The Firm
Banwell Architects has more than four decades of experience in educational, commercial, recreational, and public facilities. The majority of our work has been within New England, with an occasional special project in other states, including New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Utah and California.
Projects range from very small to over $40 million.
Banwell Architects, PC has been in business since 1966, and we have steadily grown over the past 40 years. Our firm presently includes three principals and seven design and support staff. Our office is located on The Green in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Banwell Architects is a firm believer in having the Owner involved throughout the design process. Each project is unique; however, one thing remains constant, which is that the end-users of the building must be involved in the planning. We do this by having recurring meetings with the Building Committee, and we conduct charrette sessions to evaluate the building program and to flush out goals and strategies. This can be done as one large group, or in smaller groups. We try to start the process by brainstorming with all involved to get everything on the table for discussion, and then helping separate the wants from the needs. Throughout the process, Banwell Architects keeps detailed meeting notes so that committee members, engineers, and construction managers can be up-to-date on the project’s goals, priorities, budgets, and progress.
At each meeting, we will discuss schedule, progress, next steps and are always open for discussion if there are needs that are not being met. We prefer to keep an open, honest discussion and try to set realistic expectations and always respond professionally.
