Banwell Architects designed alterations and additions to an existing 1400-student high school. New spaces include a library/media center infilling an existing courtyard, a food court cafeteria, a 2-story classroom addition for self-contained 9th grade Houses and a gym expansion. Alterations include sprinkler systems and new energy efficient lighting throughout. A new woodchip-fired heating plant is a major part of a wide range of efficiency strategies implemented at the high school, which are estimated to provide combined yearly savings to the school of $180,000.
