The new addition occupies a roughly 40' x 40' slot between two existing library buildings. The addition has a north/south orientation and offered an excellent opportunity for daylighting, particularly at the new Reading Room on the 2nd floor.
The architects evolved a filtered and reflected daylight design that minimizes glare and provides comfortable light levels at computer workstations.
