Vergennes Union High School

Facilities study of existing 1959 school building housing 540 students in grades 7 through 12. Study focused on educational curriculum review, building utilization, code compliance, energy audit and addition of the 6th grade to create a separate middle school. Recommendations led to a successful bond vote proposal of $11M. Construction started in Spring of 2001, and was completed Spring 2002.

Additions of 47,000 square feet include new library, High School science rooms (4), art rooms, instrumental music, choral, High School gymnasium, locker rooms, support spaces, greenhouse, and a new main entry. Renovations include full renovation of existing 87,000 square foot building includes new mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems, new finishes, and re-design and layout of classroom spaces. Sitework included new traffic and parking layout.
